Why Is Your Cat Chewing On Everything?
Symptoms: Typically your cat will let you know it is teething by chewing on household items like shoes, remotes, couches, etc.
- bleeding or swollen gums
- excessive chewing
- missing teeth
- inconsistent appetite
Causes: As cats grow into their adult bodies, their teeth go through some changes. When they are young, cat’s adult teeth grow in and mature. This process can be uncomfortable for your cat. In order to handle this discomfort, cats chew on objects to alleviate the pain and discomfort of their new teeth. This process is known as teething.
Treatments: In order to quell the discomfort your cat is experiencing as a result of teething we recommend getting them a chew toy. This will give them a designated object to relieve them of the discomfort while saving your household objects from getting ruined.
